Virat Kohli (319) is the highest single scorer in any event of ICC World T20. In 2014, he broke the record in World Cup T20 in Dhaka. Before Kohli, Suresh Raina was the highest run-scorer. He scored around 101 runs against South Africa within 60 balls. Along with an Indian batsman, another highest scorer was Brendan McCullum who scored 123 runs within 58 balls in 2012 against Bangladesh.
Both Dwayne Smith and Chris Gayle were the highest openers against South Africa. For the first wicket, they made partnership of 145 runs and set the world record. In ICC World Cup T20, Chris Gayle holds eight 50+ scores, overall.
Shahid Afridi, one of the most coveted Pakistani aggressive batsmen, is the holder of record of most unwanted ducks scored in World T20. In his World Cup T20 history, he got out on 0 runs for 5 times.
In the last tournament, centuries were scored by only six batsmen. They are Ahmed Shehzad (111*), Chris Gayle (117), Suresh Raina (101), McCullum (123), Alex Hales (116*) and Mahela Jayawardene (100).
The highest team score of Sri Lanka (260/6) against Kenya is the highest team total by any team in the history of World Cup T20. The team has achieved this top score in the inaugural event of World Cup T20.#
Chris Gayle, the most popular batsman in West Indies, is known for hitting highest sixes. He holds the world record by scoring 43 sixes in all five editions in T20 World Cup.
