Bajaj Pulsar specifications have always been in the pocket friendly ways, the engine displacement has always stayed in an average state where the mileage and maintenance costs won’t hurt the rider much. However, there’s a whole different fan base of Bajaj Pulsar motorbike who would want a faster sports bike from the company and instead of saving cost on their motorbikes, they would rather have the fun and joy of superfast riding. Bajaj Pulsar is preparing for a 400cc motorbike release in near future, bearing the tagline Bajaj Pulsar SS400. If even a 220cc Bajaj Pulsar can’t meet your need for speed, probably the SS400 is the Bajaj Pulsar you have been long waiting for.
Engine: 400 cc
Mileage: Unrated, 25 kmpl tentative.
Bajaj has been careful enough to not miss any youth friendly elements on the Bajaj Pulsar SS400 that they have designed. This motorbike has all the bits of a sports bike starting from the exterior, the balance, the rigidity of the chassis and the body – everything. Pushing the limits to a much further point than you have ever done is now possible on the Bajaj Pulsar SS400. The chassis is built on a new design language, however the exterior designs resemble the Bajaj NS 200 pretty much – that’s intentionally done so that people knows it’s a Bajaj motorcycle when they see one creating an appearance in the streets of India.
Fairing of this motorbike is pretty huge, and there are plenty of lines on the edges of the motorbike which might look slightly overdone at times. On the console, the speedometer is digital. However, the analog tachometer helps the riders better determine the engine rev as it’s a very important factor in automotive sports. The big tachometer dial would provide the precise engine rpm in real time.
The SS400 Being a sports bike, Bajaj Pulsar specification sheet on this motorbike couldn’t have anything less. The engine is a surprisingly bigger 400 cc displacement engine. However, the exact figures on the braking horse power and torque have not been released yet. Once we get to hold our hands on actual unit, we could measure how far the bike’s engine could go.
From the design Bajaj Pulsar SS400 has, our review teams assume the bike will have a fuel tank of 15 liters capacity at least, and the mileage would be around 25 to 30 kmpl. This will not be a motorcycle for the commuters who only require point A to B communication and nothing else. Instead, those who appreciate speed and are able to find the joy in riding a motorbike would love this beast.
Bajaj Pulsar SS400 price hasn’t been confirmed yet, however reliable sources confirm that the price would remain within the Rs. 160,000 to Rs. 180,000 range. The tentative launch date for the Bajaj Pulsar SS400 is this March, 2016. Bajaj will unveil this motorbike any day, probably.
For the Indian youth who had been dreaming of a very own sports bike, they are about to meet their dream motorbike soon, that too from a very popular brand in India.
