iBall is a popular Indian smartphone manufacturer, and they have come up with pretty impressive smartphones with decent configuration and sufficient performance output in the recent years. The iBall Andi 5U Platino came out to the mass market in August 2015, and had sold in good numbers. The handset is on the mid-end of current smartphone market; it’s not a multitasking giant but for the price; it’s definitely worth everything.
The specifications aren’t out of the world, but comparing to the price they are very well justified.
The CPU on iBall Andi 5U Platino is 1.2 GHz quad core. The CPU doesn’t draw unnecessary amount of power from the battery, thus a healthy state is ensured most of the time. The GPU is very basic yet it provides decent performance in gaming, internet surfing and video shooting and playback. Overall, the processing power isn’t bad on iBall Andi 5U Platino.

Many a times an iBall Andi 5U Platino would wish that the company had given a higher amount of RAM on this handset. Everything else is justified but even for the price, a 1 GB RAM is expected in a modern handset. iBall Andi 5U Platino comes with a 512 MB RAM which is pretty low in today’s standard. However, the stock Android 4.4 KitKat on this device does good RAM management which keeps the multitasking at decent levels.
There’s only one internal storage option – 8 GB. Good thing is – iBall has cared enough to put an external card slot on this handset so the users can expand the memory up to 32 GB using microSD cards. All the variants are supported, for better performance higher class cards are recommended.
The display is 5 inch; it’s based on the IPS LCD technology for crisp and clear output. However, the pixel count results in a slightly hazy output due to the low pixel density on the display. It has quarter HD resolution of 540×960 pixels. For basic usage this low resolution wouldn’t be an issue, however for heavy internet browsing smaller texts might cause unreadability issues.

iBall Andi 5U Platino has an 8 megapixel shooter in the rear with LED flash and software enhanced autofocus. Photos look good, however don’t expect the sharpest photo experience. The front camera is only 0.3 megapixels and doesn’t work well for selfies.
The phone is underpowered in some key aspects; but it’s a Rs. 3,999 phone. In comparison with the price tag, iBall Andi 5U Platina is perfectly configured.
