Indian Idol Junior is one of the best singing reality shows in India as it is aired on Sony Entertainment Television and is a great platform for child prodigies in playback singing.
Indian Idol Junior is one of those leading platforms which bring together young kids with great singing skills from different parts of the country. Who wins the season’s title is based on audience’s votes and judges’ decisions and the best singer is declared as the winner in season finale. Two seasons have been aired of Indian Idol Junior till date and both have bought some of the best Indian talents and giving opportunity to young children to perform on national TV.
The Indian Idol Junior 2013 was telecasted from June 1 to September 1 and hosted by Karan Wahi and Mandira Bedi. On the show, the well-known music director duo Shekhar Ravjiani and Vishal Dadlani, and the gorgeous and most talented playback singer, Shreya Ghoshal, were the Indian Idol Junior judges. And the title of Indian Idol Junior winner was crowned by Anjana Padmanabhan from Bangalore. On the other side, Anmol Jaswal, Debanjana Karmakar and Nirvesh Dave were the top 3 finalists.
During an episode, Govinda made an entry in the absence of Shreya Ghoshal. The show also greeted special guests Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone to promote their film “Chennai Express”. Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ram Charan were also the guests. Anjana got the trophy from none other than Amitabh Bachchan.
After the raving success of Season 1, here comes Indian Idol Junior 2 on silver screen. Aired on 2015, the Season 2 was hosted by Asha Negi and Hussain Kuwajerwala. The judges were Vishal Dadlani, Salim Merchant, and the very beautiful actress, Sonakshi Sinha. This time, the contestants were extremely talented and show had neck-to-neck competition. So, it was very difficult for judges to choose the winner of Indian Idol Junior 2015. Ananya Sitam Nanda was the winner, after several months of exhausting auditions, gala and selection rounds, and touch competition. Nahid Afrin and Nithyashree were the runners up.
After elimination of Vaishnav Girish, there were only top three contestants left – Nahid Afrin, Ananya Nanda and Nithyashree Venkataramanan. They fought it all to win the crown of winner. The grand finale was aired with a lot of fanfare and Kapil Sharma added to the fun with the entire gang. The comedian visited the sets for the promotion of his film “Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon”.
Sonakshi Sinha couldn’t be the part of grand finale as she had to fly to Budapest for the shooting of Force 2. For the finale, her portions were shot on Saturday. But she was not there when results were declared the next day. So, Shatrughan Sinha gave a surprise entry to fill in her shoes during the grand finale.
Eventually, Ananya managed to beat other two finalists and begged the Indian Idol Junior 2 title. If you are wondering what she is up these days, Ananya has signed a 2-year contract with Universal Music India. It means her solo will be launched every year. The label has also taken other four finalists on board, giving opportunity to launch one single in each consecutive year. We wish all of them good luck for their future!
