Born on 17th October 1979, Kimi-Matias Räikkönen is a Finnish Formula One Racing driver and he is also known as “The Ice man”. He did racing for nine seasons in F1. He was 2007 World Champion on his first stint for Ferrari. In 2010 and 2011, he competed in World Rally Championship. He came back to Formula One in 2012. He was driving for Lotus until 2013. He signed 2-year contract with Ferrari on September 2013 and it started in 2014 season. With the team, his current contract has been extended and it is expiring by the end of 2016.

Räikkönen was born on 17 October 1979 in Espoo and had long been enjoying success in Karting since he was 10 years old. His first race was in Monaco outside Finland when he was just 15. The steering wheel broke during the race but he still continued driving and informed his mechanic by waving the steering wheel frantically in the air. His next race in Monaco was also unforgettable. He got a test from Peter Sauber with Formula One team at the Mugello Circuit in September 2000. After further tests in Barcelona and Jerez, Sauber signed him for 2001 season.
But some critics raised objections on giving F1 Super License to Räikkönen as he had just 23 car races and he didn’t have enough experience. However, he got the license and scored championship point at Australian Grand Prix 2001. He had a great debut year and he achieved 8 finishes in top 8 and 4 points finishes and listed among the top 10 richest sportsman in the world.
Räikkönen is the younger brother of a national junior-class champion and rally driver, Rami Räikkönen. He is a son of a road builder, Matti. Rami also participate in the Formula 3 Championship. Räikkönen met Jenni Dahlman, former Miss Scandinavia 2001 and Finnish model, in 2002. He married to her on July 2004 and lived between Finland and Switzerland. In February 2013, the couple got separated and divorced in 2014. Currently, he is engaged to Minna-Mari “Minttu” Virtanen, an underwear and fitness model. On January 2015, the couple has the first baby boy, Robin Raikkonen.
