Madhuri Dixit is an Indian actress born on May 15, 1967. She is known for her astonishing work in Indian cinema. She is a leading lady in the decades of 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s. She has been critically appraised for her amazing dancing and acting skills. She is the winner of 6 Filmfare awards, one for Supporting Actress, 4 for Best Actress and 1 Special Recognition. She has got nominations for Best Actress in Filmfare Awards for whopping 14 times. The Government of India awarded her with fourth biggest civilian award of India, the Padma Shri, in 2008.
After making her entry with Abodh (1984), she got huge fame with Tezaab (1988). She established herself as the leading lady in Hindi Cinema with several blockbusters like Parinda (1989), Ram Lakhan (1989), Dil (1990), Beta (1992), Saajan (1991), Khalnayak (1993), Raja (1995), Hum Aapke Hain Kaun… (1994), and Dil To Paagal Hai (1997). She is also critically acclaimed for her tremendous performance in dramas like Mrityudand (1997), Anjaam (1994), Lajja (2001), Pukar (2000), and Devdas (2002). To raise her children and give proper time to family, she took a long break in 2001 from her career. In 2007, she made a comeback with Aaja Nachle, a musical drama. Later she starred in 2014 dramas Gulaab Gang and Dedh Ishqiya.

Along with her filming career, she has also become a judge in several dance shows, including Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, where she judged for four consecutive seasons. She has also been into several philanthropic works and stage shows. She also became the Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF India in 2014. She has two children with Dr. Shriram Madhav Nene. She was born in a Marathi family and a native in Mumbai. She was born to Snehlata and Shankar Dixit. She did her schooling in Divine Child High School and studied in Mumbai University to become a microbiologist. She is passionate in dancing since she was just 3 years old. She practiced Kathak and later became the well-trained Kathak Dancer.

The “Dhak Dhak Girl” of Bollywood, Madhuri ji is loved specifically for her dance in “Dil Dhak Dhak Karne Laga” song from Beta. She also had amazing dance sequences in several popular songs like “Ek Do Teen” in Tezaab, “Bada Dukh Deena” in Ram Lakhan, “Humko Aaj Kal Hai” in Sailaab, Kay Sera Sera in Pukaar, Maar Daala in Devdas and even more. With an online website, Madhuri ji has also launched her official dance academy, “Dance with Madhuri” in 2013. The academy has around 200,000 subscribers from around 200 countries. Along with Madhuri, several other popular dancing gurus are teaching on her dance academy, including Remo D’Souza, Pt. Birju Maharaj and National Award winner – Saroj Khan. In the dance academy, one can learn all kinds of popular dance forms like Waltz, Bollywood, Dandia, Samba, etc. She also teaches some of the most loved dance numbers in her special classes, including Mayi Ne Mayi, Ek Do Teen, Ghagra, Aaja Nachle and Badi Mushkil.
